Vendor nabbed for liniment oil

A vendor was arrested for allegedly selling fake liniment oil by police operatives in Ulas, Barangay Talomo Proper, Talomo District at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

Maj. Milgrace Driz, head of the Davao City Field Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, identified the suspect as Edwin Zanoria Coronel. No background of the suspect was released.

Driz said Jesus Malaran, owner of Gabon Herbal Products, complained to the authorities that fake Gabon Powerful Liniment oil products were being sold in Ulas.

With this, the CIDG coordinated with Talomo Police Station to conduct the buy-bust operation.

Driz said the suspect is apprehended after he accepted the money from a police officer who pretended to buy the product at a sidewalk along McArthur Highway in Ulas.

Confiscated from his possession were 200 bottles of the alleged fake products and a P1,000 cash.

The suspect is now temporarily detained at Talomo Police Station pending the filing of formal charges.
