Two drug suspects yield P7-M in shabu

MORE THAN P7 million worth of shabu was seized from two high-value individuals at a fixed checkpoint at Barangay Licanan, Lasang, on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson Hazel Tuazon only identified them as alias John and Jay-ar.

The Bunawan police, under station commander Major Jake Goles, together with Task Force Davao personnel, successfully confiscated 107.02 grams of suspected shabu, valued at approximately P727,736,000, and a .45 caliber Colt Defender.

Tuazon said the community’s active support boosts law enforcers’ morale in continuing the campaign against illegal drugs.

“Together, we can make this city a drug-free city with the help of everyone who wants to have a safe and secure place to live,” she added.

For now, the suspects are under the custody of Bunawan Police Station facing a case in violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Illegal possession of firearms).
