ACCORDING to Pfizer materials I received after I completed my two doses of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine in an interval of 21 days from the first inoculation on June 29 and the second shot last July 20 at Microtel Damosa, may mganaiulat na mga side-effects: (1) sakit, pamumula, o pamamaga sa lugar ng iniksiyunan, (2) pagkapagod, (masakit ang ulo), (4) sakit ng kalamnan, (5) panginginig, (6) sakit sa kasukasuan, (7) lagnat, (8) pagkahilo o padudual (nausea), (9) masamang pakiramdam, (10) pamamaga ng lymph nodes (lymphadenopathy).

This is my observation after I was fully vaccinated.

Except for the mild pain that I immediately felt in my left arm where I was injected, which lasted for 24 hours, I didn’t experience other side-effects as mentioned above. In fact, the Pfizer vaccine eases the back pain at the lower portion of my waistline that had given me trouble and sleepless nights for months now. The pain suddenly disappeared the moment I completed the vaccination.

While there’s no mention that the vaccine can cure a person suffering from back pain, it worked on my case once I completed the vaccination. I am hoping that the back pain I had will not occur again and the vaccine will also heal other diseases that affect many senior citizens like me.

I am also hoping that those who continue to believe that the anti-COVID-19 vaccine will make you a zombie will now come to their senses and get vaccinated.

Congratulations to the DOH-barangay medical staff and volunteer personnel of Microtel Damosa for doing an excellent medical mission in saving lives during my two-day inoculation in the area. They were all courteous, well-trained, and organized in entertaining us. I personally experienced and witnessed the people, especially the elders in the A3 category, being safe and comfortable while waiting for their turn to be given the dose. Mabuhay kayo, front-liners!

Although the new Delta variant that originated in India and is reportedly a hundred times more transmissible compared to the alpha variant is not in the city yet. Just the same, the city COVID-19 Task Force reminded the public to continue observing minimum health protocols. Huwag maging kompiyansa at matigas ang ulo.

It was almost lunchtime after we picked up our paychecks from the TIMES when Jin Lorenz and I tried entering a popular fast-food along Ponciano Street to have our meal.

Sa entrance pa lamang, the waiter of the establishment stopped me from getting inside for the reason that I am more than 65 years old. I did not insist to get in because I know the government issued health protocols that prohibit senior citizens from entering any eating establishments for being vulnerable to severe infection caused by the COVID-19. Nevertheless, we just brought out the food we ordered at the same establishment. Alangan di kami kumain!

But before we left the place, I asked the waiter if he and other waiters get vaccinated? And he answered, “Wala pa ho kami!”

Pastilan, ito ang pagkakamali ng ating medical experts for continued discrimination of senior citizens for calling us a threat to mankind. Eh baka mauna pa kayong mamatay kaysa sa amin!

The government overlooked this establishment whose unvaccinated personnel continue to serve foods as they post a clear health threat to their customers while many among us seniors who have already been inoculated are still prohibited from entering because of the confusing health rules.

Now can you blame President Duterte for calling these people who do not believe in the bakuna na mga “buang!” Tama si Digong!
