TASK Force Davao commander Col. Consolito Yecla announced that the first-ever community simulation exercise was a success with 19 of the 25 “terrorists” reported by Davaoenos to the dedicated hotline within four hours after the experiment started.
“Our security system will never be the same after the exercise. We are now having a robust security system in Davao City based on the support and cooperation of all Davaoenos,” he said.
Ewan ko how the TFD commander concluded that the exercise was a “success” when it was pre-arranged and the actors (police and civilians) were told beforehand what to do and in the end they all victorious.
And how is he sure that the city has now “a robust security system” when it only neutralized 19 “terrorists” while there are millions of them who continue to threaten the peace and tranquility of the world?
The scripted anti-terror act of the TFD can be likened to long- ago Tagalog movie, “Bituin Walang Ningning” wherein the director instructed his principal actors, Sharon Cuneta and Bing Loyzaga, to make their slapping act real for the enjoyment of the moviegoers.
Sharon and Bing followed what they were told and the movie became a blockbuster while the producer walked to the bank laughing.
But the anti-terror exercise is not a money-making movie like “Bituin” and, seriously speaking, that these can’t be compared as we are dealing here with dangerous people. We only exposed the lives of the participants and the public to danger while doing the experiment.
What if those security guard of establishments who spotted the 19 people who acted as terrorist were not aware of the exercise and instead used their weapons to neutralize the actors (or the other way around)?
What if the real actors (terrorists) took advantage of the situation and attack, were they (participants) prepared to defend themselves and the innocent civilians? I doubt. The defenders might even give the attackers a welcome salute believing that this is still a part in the script?
I thank God the terrorists were not in the mood at that time to come down from their lairs to do their thing and nothing serious happened when the anti-terror experiment was being done.
Anyway, although I’m not totally sold on what the TFD did, congratulations parin for the effort to keep Davaoenos safe. Saludo parin ako, Sir!

Re-electionist US President Donald Trump, who claimed he had recovered from COVID-19 the disease caused by coronavirus, declared that catching by the virus was a “blessing from God.”
“I think this was a blessing from God that I caught it. This was a blessing in disguise,” Trump said.
Many Americans may not vote for him this November presidential election for fear that his mind might already been infected by the deadly disease and that he is not fit to rule. Calling the virus a “blessing from God” is hard to believe as God has done nothing to make His people live in pain and misery.
But even if many American voters may not vote for him, I am still for his reelection in the White House. It is because of utang na loob. I have my US Green Card approved by the US Secretary under his administration, remember?

Fellow seniors, let’s have a good laugh. Two senior citizens get engaged, and that’s when hilarity ensues.
Louie and Rose lived in an old folks’ retirement community, he a widower and she a widow. They had known each other for a number of years.
One evening there was a community supper in the big activity center. The two were at the same table, across from one another.
As the meal went on, Louie took a few admiring glances at Rose…and finally gathered the courage to ask her: “Will you marry?’
After about six seconds of ‘careful consideration,’ she answered “Yes, yes I will.” The meal ended and, with a few more pleasant exchanges, they went to their respective places.
The next morning, Louie was troubled. “Did she say ‘yes’ or did she say ‘no’?” He couldn’t remember. Try as he might, he just could not recall. Not even a faint memory. With trepidation, he went to the telephone and called Rose.
First, he explained that he didn’t remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the lovely evening past. And he gained a little more courage, and he inquired: “When I asked if you would marry me, did you say ‘Yes’ or did you say ‘No’?” He was delighted to hear Rose say:
“Why, I said, ‘Yes, yes I will’ and I meant it with all my heart.” Then she continued, “I am so glad that you called…because I couldn’t remember who had asked me.”
