Rules for holding  of contact sports out soon | exec

THE City Sports Office is preparing the regulations for holding of contact sports as a result of placing the city under Alert Level 2.

Mikey Aportadera, head of the office, said a consultation has started with health experts in crafting guidelines for contact sports under the new classification.

“Gikonsulta nato if the venue can be in the controlled and regulated area, for example, naay mga padula na the government and the organizer can somehow partner sa pagmanage ani pagpadagan ani nga event nga dili ta makapadaghan og mga cases sa Davao City,” Aportadera said.

Under Alert Level 2, local government units are allowed to establish their regulations for contact sports even as they can also deny the holding of these activities.

Aportadera said there is a need to be cautious in allowing the holding of contact sports as they might become venues of more COVID-19 cases.

“Mas maayo na i-prioritize nato ang safety sa tanan bag-o nato ni siya ablihan sa tanan. Nakasabot pud ko sa inyong kamingaw sa inyuhang mga dula, basketball, volleyball, football but we cannot compromise the safety of everybody, so sabton lang sa nato, hulaton gyud nato kay amoa na ni siyang gihisgotan og tarong so hopefully we can come up next week og LGU tailored-fit na guidelines for Davao City for contact sports,” he said.
