A FIRE tore through nine houses in Purok 35, Maharlika Village, Barangay Ma-a, on Thursday, at 2:17 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
Fire Sr. Inspector Frances Mae Sendrijas said the flames quickly spread due to the houses being made of light materials.
Firefighters and volunteers arrived at the scene and extinguished the blaze at 4:08 p.m.
While there were no reported injuries, investigators suspect electrical overloading as the cause of the fire. The estimated cost of damage is P210,000.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office has already assessed the affected families, which numbered 13 initially.
