REQUEST FOR VAX | Sara wants those joining pilot face-to-face classes vaccinated

THE city government has pushed for the inclusion in the vaccination program against COVID-19 of those children and their teachers who will be part of the pilot program of face-to-face classes.

In her radio program on Monday, Mayor Sara Duterte said the city government has sought the approval of the Department of Health to include those children and teachers in five schools of the city when the vaccination for minors between 12 and 17 is started.

The mayor said it was the vaccination cluster of the city government which made the recommendation during a meeting on Monday.

“It was also discussed sa vaccine cluster reporting kaganina that they will include also the vaccination of the five schools that were submitted for pilot face-to-face sa Department of Education. So, they will seek permission for that, whether or not naay comorbidity but they were selected to be pilot school,” she said.

Named to the initial implementation of the face-to-face classes because they are considered minimal risk areas in relation to COVID-19 are Dalagdag National High School with Senior High in Barangay Dalagdag, G. Tajo National High School with Senior High in Barangay Lampianao, Saloy National High School with Senior Higrts.

Dr. Michelle Schlosser, COVID-19 Task Force spokesperson, said the National COVID-19 Task Force Vaccination Operations Center issued Advisory No. 89 which spells out the vaccination of school personnel, be they teachers or not, to prepare them for the reopening of face-to-face classes.

The mayor said only those who are fully vaccinated personnel of the schools, including teachers, will be allowed to report when the program starts.
