LTO XI relaxes tricycle ban for Balik Eskwela

THE LAND Transportation Office (LTO) XI has temporarily relaxed restrictions on tricycle operations to accommodate the influx of students returning to school.

Yuri Lim, head of LTO-11’s Law Enforcement Section, confirmed that tricycles throughout the region will be allowed to operate beyond their usual routes during the start of classes.

“We recognize that not all public utility vehicles (PUVs) can adequately serve the needs of students, especially in remote areas,” Lim explained.

“Tricycles are often the most effective mode of transportation for them,” he said.

However, LTO XI emphasized that this extension is specifically for the Balik Eskwela program and will be reassessed after the initial rush of returning students subsides.
