GSIS: Loans can be filed through e-mail

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has announced that individual filing of loan applications can be done via email effective immediately.

In an advisory released last April 1, the agency announced to its members, pensioners, and agency authorized officers (AAO) under the GSIS Davao Branch Office that they will allow filing of Pension Loan, ConsoLoan, and Policy Loan via email.

For active members, usual validation of qualification such as the length of active service, no pending case, and the amount of net take home pay before certifying the loan must be strictly enforced by AAOs.

In order to apply for the loan, clients must do the following procedures:

Go to the GSIS Website and click on the “Downloadable Forms” link (https://www.gsis.gov.ph/downloadable-forms/?csrt=1578082243057664053). Download the online application form of the selected loan.
After filling in the necessary details, save a PDF file copy of the loan application form for email attachment.

Clients must take a photo of themselves holding their GSIS UMID eCard or their temporary card. If they do not have a GSIS temporary or UMID eCARD, they can present two valid IDs instead. They must take a photo of the two ID cards (front and back) along with the photo of themselves holding it.

Save a PNG or Jpeg copy of their ID photos for email attachment.

Create an email using their personal (preferably gmail) or their agency-assigned email address. For easy identification, please use the following format in the email Subject Title: “Loan Application_BP Number._Last Name_First Name_Agency or City / Province”, for Active Members: “GSIS LOAN APPLICATION_2000123456_DELA CRUZ_JUAN_DPWH CEBU”, and for Pensioners: “PENSION LOAN_20000123456_DELA CRUZ_JUAN_RIZAL”
After sending the loan application, clients are asked to check their email regularly and wait for the Tentative Loan Computation and Loan Conformity (Conforme) from GSIS.

After receiving the documents, clients must email it back to GSIS to signify their conformity to the terms of the loan agreement.

For active members, GSIS will forward their online loan application to their respective Agency Authorized Officer (AAO) for certification after receiving the loan conformity.

GSIS also reminded its members that they will follow the One Member-One Email policy. If the client’s email exceeds the 5MB limit, they may email in batches with the same subject line.

Clients may also apply for a loan using the GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) kiosk. The kiosks in the GSIS Davao Office compound and some kiosks outside of the branch office are still up and online.

According to the agency, the online mode of filing loan applications is a proactive measure to address the urgent financial needs of its members and pensioners amid the COVID-19 pandemic and they are exerting all efforts to ensure uninterrupted service delivery to all their pensioners and members.
