DCPO: 27 arrested for PLDT wire theft

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) apprehended 27 individuals for stealing PLDT copper cables along MacArthur Highway, Quimpo Boulevard early Tuesday morning.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, DCPO spokesperson, said the arrest stemmed from ongoing investigations into missing PLDT copper cable wires based on the complaint of the utility company.

Elements of the Sta. Ana Police Station (PS1), City Special Operation Group (CSOG), other police units, and a SWAT team conducted the joint operation.

Through a covert operation, authorities apprehended the suspects in the act of stealing approximately 20 kilos of PLDT copper cable wires valued at P3,200.00. 

The suspects were loading the materials into a white Hyundai L3 vehicle (plate number LAF 5840) and a green forward truck (plate number RGT 704) when arrested. Operatives also confiscated the cutting materials from their possession.

The arrested individuals and confiscated evidence are under the custody of the Sta. Ana Police Station for investigation and filing of appropriate charges.
