Davao Oriental begins second round of food pack distribution

The Provincial Government of Davao Oriental has already started on its second round of distribution of food packs to the different municipalities since Monday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the provincial government has already covered 7,135 families on its initial distribution of the relief goods to nine barangays of Mati City.

It has already completed the food packs distribution to the 4,373 families in eight barangays in the municipality of Boston.

The distribution will still continue to cover the remaining municipalities and barangays in Mati City in the coming days.

The residents of the remaining areas yet to have been given are reminded to wait as their respective purok and barangay officials will give announcements regarding the distribution.

Around 170,000 families in the province are targeted to receive the food packs, which contain four kilos of rice and four pieces of canned goods.

The second round of food packs distribution was initiated by the provincial government as a means to help the local government units. The respective LGUs will be handling their own distribution during the third round, which was an agreement between provincial governor Nelson Dayanghirang and the chief executives.
