Cultural Potpourri | Park Inn’s Kadayawan Fest Feast

Park Inn by Radisson Davao’s Madayaw Feast guests

“The Kadayawan Festival of Davao City is one of the much awaited and most celebrated occasions. The festivity symbolizes not only the abundance of delicious fruits; but the happy occasion also serves as a platform to showcase the thriving eco-tourism of our beloved Davao City. For this year’s Kadayawan Festival, Park Inn by Radisson wants to present something unique to Davaoenos and tourists alike. We have prepared popular dishes from such regions like Pampanga, Ilocos and Bicol while infusing the Davao taste with all-time favorites like mangosteen, durian, pomelo and pineapple. With these special dishes, we aim to give an innovative flavor to the Kadayawan Festival,” shares Park Inn General Manager Emelyn Mauhay-Rosales who considers herself an adopted daughter of Davao City.

It was last August 2 during lunch when the cool GM Em Mauhay-Rosales welcomed friends from the media, bloggers, Councilor Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz and Cherry Banquil-Al-ag, Ginoong Davao representatives Cyriel Rosil and Abraham Yahya, among others, for a preview of Park Inn’s RBG’s Philippine regional gastronomy. Oh yes, RBG is the center of Park Inn by Radisson as it is the place to meet, connect with friends and family, and celebrate lifestyle. The place will definitely meet a variety of guests’ needs especially when it comes to food.

At this festive time of the year in our beloved city, RBG, the hotel’s all day dining restaurant, presents a set meal and a buffet spread with the theme, “A Taste of Filipino Culture.” Indulge in classic Pinoy dishes like ensaladas, sinigang na baboy, seafood pancit canton, chicken and pork afritada sa gata, inihaw na tuna belly, chef’s favorite beef kari-kari with kesong puti, pinakbet sa alamang with chicharon, among others. Finish your meal with delightful desserts like durian cheesecake, buko-pandan jelly with tapioca, and still more. The Kadayawan set meal is priced at Php 2,500.00 and is good for four hungry diners. The set meal is inclusive of soup, salad of your choice, main course, sidings, rice and dessert. The Kadayawan set meal is available during lunch and dinner on August 15, 16, 17, 18 (for dinner only), and 19. There is a special Kadayawan lunch buffet offer on August 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

A happy Kadayawan Welcome from Park Inn by Radisson GM Em Mauhay-Rosales

The lucky guests during Park Inn by Radisson’s Davao Madayaw Feast preview were treated to a special cultural show energetically performed by Arnold Alvarez’s SiningTala dancers and musicians. There was also a Q&A portion wherein winners received coupons for the free use of Park Inn’s swimming pool. GM Em Mauhay-Rosales also took the time to introduce the incoming Marketing and Communications Manager in the person of Haila Shasta “Lish” Babela. Naturally, Councilor Myrna Dalodo-Ortiz and Cherry Bangquil-Al-ag took the time to take “selfies” with those who cared to join in the shoot like almost everybody did.
