And now, with the launch of the Department of Tourism Davao Region’s Davao Adventure Challenge, the adventure options are even more enticing.
“Together, we will rediscover Davao Region’s breathtaking landscapes, vibrant cultures, and exciting adventure pursuits in this year-long tourism campaign,” said DOT Xl regional director Tanya Rabat Tan during its launch last April 28 at the Mindanao Tourism Expo in Cagayan de Oro City.
The Davao Adventure Challenge is a year-long tourism campaign that aims to showcase the diverse menu of adventure activities and destinations in Davao while positioning the region as The Philippines’ premier adventure tourism destination. Apart from attracting adventure seekers from around the world, the campaign also endeavors to promote some of the region’s lesser-known but equally exciting adventure sites.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, you can sign up for the challenge via dotxievents.com and choose from 15 initially available adventures. The best part? You can complete these challenges anytime within the year. You simply need to scan the QR codes at your chosen sites, then post photos on social media. For every completed challenge, you can earn points, which would qualify you to receive e-badges and rewards.
For this program, DOT XI is collaborating with local government units, accredited establishments, tour operators, and guides to curate unique adventure packages catering to different interests and skill levels.
“Beyond the thrills, it’s an opportunity to explore unfamiliar places, learn new cultures and sustainable practices, meet locals as well as your fellow adventurers, and create lasting memories of your Davao travel experience,” added Tan.
