The mayor, however, has yet to approve the resolution as she is set to take her oath as the second top official of the country at the San Pedro Square.

The roads to be closed to vehicles for the event are corner A. Pichon (City Hall Drive), corner A. Pichon (City Engineer’s Drive), corner Bolton St. – Rizal St., corner Crooked Road-Rizal St., corner Bolton St.- C.M. Recto Avenue, corner San Pedro St.- Anda St., corner Bolton St.- A. Pichon, and corner Anda St. – A. Pichon from 9 p.m. of June 16 up to Monday, June 20.

But Dionisio Abude, head of the Transport and Traffic Management Office, said the roads will be still open to pedestrians.

“Necessary kaayo nga sayo pa lang masirado na ang mga dalan kay mag put up pa, hakuton ang gamiton para sa stage. Hakuton ang mga railings, ipang set up paman na. Unya dili ra man gud 100 ka tao ra atong ginapreparahan ubay-ubay gyud. Magtaod mga tents ug set up pud sa mga portalets. Dili man gud na mahimo sa isa lang ka adlaw,” Abude said, pointing out that after the event all those that are installed will have to be dismantled.

All personnel of the office will be on the day of the event, with about 100 of them supervising the area where the activity is being held, while others will be assigned to strategic locations.

“Any street naa na’y nakatoka nga inspector sa field this Sunday. Mag-duty ang tanan, wala’y gipa-leave sa ilaha kay daghang VIPs ug daghang tao pud lisod na magkaproblema sa traffic. As of now, so far as the CTTMO is concerned ready na gyud atong opisina,” Abude added as he urged those who want to attend the event to ensure that they observe minimum public health standards like wearing of face masks/

Those carrying backpacks, wearing jackets and bringing with them objects that can endanger the public will not be allowed to enter the area as everyone is urged to ensure to place garbage in transparent cellophanes and bring it with them if they will find it difficult to place it in garbage bins.

Drone flying will also be prohibited except for those with security clearance, while sidewalk vendors will still be allowed to peddle their goods.
