Check guidelines on flights, says city tourism

The City Tourism Operations Office has advised residents who plan to travel out of the country to check the guidelines that the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) issued on Sunday.

Regina Rosa Tecson, head of the office, said travelers should make the necessary coordination with the embassies or consulates of the countries that they are going to before booking their tickets.

Tecson also reminded them to only buy tickets directly from airline companies. “Please refrain from getting tickets from unlicensed travel agents or ticketing offices. No one should be selling right now, except the airlines themselves,” said Tecson.

On Sunday, the DFA travel advisory included Infographics on Travel Bans and Restrictions for Filipinos imposed by over 160 countries in the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East and Africa based on the latest information from their Foreign Service Posts.

The infographics show which countries allow Filipinos to go to, or which countries allow stranded Filipinos to leave.

DFA, however, cautioned travelers to check their official platforms from time-to-time since the travel bans and restrictions will be subject to change without prior and sufficient notice.
