Alleged thief killed after reportedly firing at cops

AN ALLEGED thief was killed by elements of the Talomo police following a pursuit operation along Amolo Street in Bangkal, around 10:45 p.m., on Friday, Sept. 22.

Police have yet to identify the slain suspect, who was described as slim built, about 30-35 years old, wearing a black and blue t-shirt with yellow short pants.

According to the report, the said suspect was on board a tricycle when he was cornered by the police at Amolo Street.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson, said the victim sought police assistance after their auto shop at Santan Street was robbed.

Operatives then conducted a follow-up operation to hunt down the suspect. As they were about to arrest him, the suspect allegedly shot at them prompting the arresting officers to retaliate.

The suspect sustained gunshot wounds on his body and was immediately brought to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) but was declared dead on arrival.
