SSS Mindanao South 1 Division participates in Nationwide Registration Day

SSS Mindanao South 1 Division conducts activities in various areas in SSS offices, malls, public markets, public transport terminals, schools, barangay halls, and cultural and sports centers.
DAVAO CITY – The Mindanao South 1 Division of the Social Security System (SSS) successfully conducted the Nationwide Registration Day, an initiative aimed at extending social security protection to all Filipinos, including employed, self-employed, voluntary, Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), and non-working spouses. The event began with a flag-raising ceremony, followed by a motorcade through the city, symbolizing SSS’s commitment to reaching every Filipino and ensuring their access to essential social security benefits.
With the event theme “Be Future Ready. Be an SSS Member Today!”, SSS branches in Davao, Davao-Ilustre, Toril, Digos, Panabo, Tagum, Mati and Bislig simultaneously brought SSS services closer to the people through the information and servicing booths installed in various areas such as the market areas, public transport terminals, schools, barangay halls, and Cultural and Sports Centers where the public can be assisted with their queries and transactions.
Mary Ellen A. Estoque, vice president for Mindanao South 1 Division, said, “All Filipinos should understand the value of social security and we are here to help them realize that. Our aim is to cover as many Filipinos as possible to help themselves secure their future through our benefits, loan privileges, and retirement savings schemes,”.
Estoque encourages non-members to enroll in SSS to avail themselves of various benefits such as sickness, maternity, unemployment, disability, retirement, funeral, and death. Consequently, they can also avail themselves of loan privileges, including salary, calamity, and educational loans. They are also encouraged to utilize the newly launched MySSS Pension Booster to boost their retirement fund.
She added that making the agency’s services accessible and convenient will help increase the number of workers to join SSS.
“They can immediately apply for their Social Security (SS) numbers, inquire, verify their records, and update their personal information. Our branch personnel are also ready to assist them in their online transactions via My.SSS Portal such as account creation/reset, PRN generation, Disbursement Account Enrollment, benefit claims applications, and loan applications,” Estoque added.
Across eight branches in Mindanao South 1 Division, the SSS Nationwide Registration Day was attended by 15,340 participants and was able to register 2,587 individuals for SSS.
“This activity shows how SSS is committed to reaching out to all sectors of society, giving everyone an equal opportunity to become SSS members and maximize their benefits and privileges in the future,” Estoque concluded.
