Muslim villages receive gift packs

 

 

 

THE CITY government distributed gift packs to about 1,000 families in Muslim communities on Friday.

This developed as the Task Force Davao also distributed food packs to about 1,000 beneficiaries, many of them those displaced by the siege in Marawi City, trisikad drivers at Roxas Avenue, and vendors in public areas, seaports, terminals, Bantay-Dagat volunteers, and the “bankeros” at Sta. Ana Wharf.

“This is to thank them for their support during community exercises as they are considered as our eyes and ears in our operations,” said Col. Consolito Yecla, commander of the unit,

Yecla assured that during the distribution, minimum public health protocols were strictly observed.

Speaking in behalf of the Muslim communities in the city, Muhammad Al-Khulaqi, president of the
Muslim Islamic Foundation, thanked both the citt government and the national goverment for the gift packs whose distribution was also facilited by the military unit.

“Thank you so much for your gift to our Muslim brothers and sisters. It is not the first time you did that with us, many times. We shall be forever [grateful] with [your gift to] us,” he said.
