AS THE country gears up for the highly anticipated Palarong Pambansa 2025 happening in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, MILO shines the spotlight on the inspiring delegation from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), whose participation is made possible through training and support provided by MILO.
In a special send-off ceremony at Palos Verdes, Davao City, MILO recognized the spirit and dedication of 488 BARMM athletes competing in 14 sports events, including Arnis, Baseball, Football, Sepak Takraw, Taekwondo, among others. Among these athletes, almost 300 of them underwent intensive training fully supported by MILO, underscoring the brand’s commitment to breaking down barriers and making sports accessible for all.
MILO has championed the role of sports as a powerful teacher, one that instills discipline, teamwork, and grit. This year, MILO continues its advocacy by supporting Mindanaoan athletes—providing not just nutritious energy but also the critical resources, coaching, and training they need to pursue their dreams.
“Inclusivity is not just a word for us. It’s our promise,” shared Carlo Sampan, head of MILO Sports. “We are proud to support BARMM’s athletes because their journey reflects the very heart of what MILO stands for: that talent knows no limits, no region. When we open sports to all, we shape a more empowered nation.”
Through training support, equipment, and mentorship, MILO helped prepare the BARMM athletes not just physically, but also by instilling confidence and pride as they represent their communities at the Palarong Pambansa.
Empowering underserved athletes to shine
Engr. Jairus Rosello, part of the organizing committee of the Palarong Pambansa BARMM delegation, shared how MILO’s involvement made a meaningful difference in the athletes’ preparations.
“The support from MILO has been transformative for our BARMM athletes. In addition to our highly-skilled training programs and extensive support system, MILO has not only equipped our athletes with the skills they need to compete at a local level, but has also fueled their confidence and belief in themselves to win in the Nationals,” Rosello shared.
On the representation of BARMM athletes in national sporting events like Palarong Pambansa, Rosello added that it holds significant importance for the athletes in the region. He said:
“Throughout their preparation, our athletes have trained with a shared purpose, rising above individual backgrounds to compete as one BARMM. This sends a powerful message to young people back home: that through dedication and solidarity, they too can rise, represent, and inspire.”
Breaking barriers, building champions at Palarong Pambansa
Through its partnership with the Palarong Pambansa, MILO will support on-ground activations, athlete programs, and advocacy initiatives that ensure more children from every region get the chance to experience the transformative power of sports.
“This is not just about medals. It’s about showing the nation that when we make sports accessible for all, we are building a future of champions from every corner of the country,” added Sampan.
MILO invites everyone to support all the athletes of Palarong Pambansa 2024—as they embody the spirit of unity, inclusivity, and Filipino excellence.
