SENIOR High School is a crucial life stage for teens because it’s the period when they discover their interests, gain self-confidence, and explore potential careers by learning the requisite foundational skills. Fortunately, world-class educational institutions like Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) offer a diverse line-up of senior high school tracks that train students to excel both in the classroom and life.
Known for its legacy of technological and academic excellence, Mapúa MCM enables learners to prepare for future professions with its comprehensive Academic, Arts and Design, and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks.

The institute offers three specializations in its Academic Track: STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) for students eyeing careers in engineering, medicine, computer science, and the like; HUMSS (Humanities and Social Sciences) for those inclined to education, journalism, law, and social work; and ABM (Accountancy, Business, and Management) for learners interested in finance, accounting, marketing, and other business-related fields.
Mapúa MCM also has an Arts and Design Track for students passionate about the arts, design, media, and entertainment industries and a TVL Track on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) focused on programming and animation so they can work in either software, web and game development, or animation.
The school combines its rigorous curriculum with an outcomes-based, student-centric teaching methodology to ensure students gain the appropriate skills and competencies for their chosen field. To do this, the academic institution seamlessly integrates technology into all subjects so learners become highly digitally literate and competent in using industry-standard software, which they will utilize to solve real-world problems and participate in collaborative projects.
“Mapúa MCM Senior High School offers a distinctive and comprehensive educational experience that prepares learners for college and a successful future. With a strong and forward-thinking curriculum, various tracks, extensive support systems, and vibrant learning community, learners have many opportunities to grow and reach their full potential. “shared Mapúa MCM’s High School principal Cesar Glenn Josio.
This technology-enhanced approach grants students access to the school’s repository of educational resources, assignments, and communication, known as the Mapúa MCM Digital to enhance and personalize their learning experience. Students can then test and review what they’ve learned through interactive classes, group discussions, debates, role-playing, and simulations.
Learners are then encouraged to apply their skills via project- or problem-based learning. This hands-on approach exposes students to workplace scenarios and provides opportunities for concrete applications via case studies and simulations. For instance, students can conduct business simulations in the ABM strand by managing virtual companies and making real-world business decisions. In the Arts and Design track, Mapúa MCM learners organize art exhibits or design projects for local businesses. The school also taps its industry partners for student internships, training, conferences, and industry certifications to make them highly employable.

Classes at the senior high school are conducted using blended learning, which combines face-to-face and online learning to give students flexibility and individualized instruction. Students who attend face-to-face classes experience a supportive learning environment and can directly interact and collaborate with classmates and instructors. On the other hand, online learners appreciate the flexibility and pace of recorded lectures, the vast online resources on the LMS, online assignments and quizzes, and engaging online discussions with their peers and instructors.
Mapúa MCM senior high schoolers also receive exposure programs and training to solidify their foundational skills and prepare them for jobs or higher studies. These include business simulations for ABM students, capstone projects for STEM learners, culminating activities like exhibits and showcases for HUMSS and Arts and Design, work immersion for TVL students, robotics classes, and college-level math courses for Grade 12 students.
Throughout their journey, students are guided by class advisers who conduct scheduled individual consultations and homeroom sessions. Mentorship programs are also done to facilitate knowledge sharing from industry professionals and successful alumni.
Mapúa MCM understands that students have different learning paces and might need help in specific subjects. To help them perform well academically, the senior high school extends two kinds of academic support: Live Doubt Solving and Proactive Remediation Program. Live Doubt Solving, a teacher- or Learner-led component of the school’s eTutor Program, connects students with teachers online or in person on a regular pre-scheduled basis or by demand. Students can also join learner-led doubt-solving sessions where they can collaborate with peers in tackling problems and unpacking concepts under the guidance of student tutors or student groups.
As soon as the school year starts, the institution holds Proactive Remediation Programs for those who were identified to be at risk of struggling with concepts or have potential learning gaps that could hamper them from grasping complex ideas later on. This early intervention prevents learners from falling behind and enables them to succeed and enjoy their studies.
While experienced counselors and teachers assess, coach, and set benchmarks and learning objectives that will help students lay the groundwork for their future careers. They are then taught to build portfolios showcasing their achievements and projects, which they can use in college or job applications. This holistic approach enables students to master high-level skills and primes them to seamlessly transition and excel in college and their profession.
“The two years in Senior High School can make a big difference in preparing for college and life..Choosing Mapúa MCM for Senior High School is equivalent to choosing a pathway to a successful future and beyond,” added Josio.
