DCPO revives peace and order program enforced in May polls

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) on Monday launched the revitalized Kasimbayanan (Kapulisan, Simbahan, Pamayanan) program with the theme “Life is beautiful. Kaligtasan Niyo, Sagot Ko,” at the Camp Captain Domingo E. Leonor along San Pedro Street.

The program engages multi-sectoral entities and communities toward nation-building and the pursuit of a more holistic and sustainable peace and security situation in the community.

It is essentially a renewed form of the PNP’s program to achieve peace and order during the May 2022 elections.

The event highlighted the collaboration of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the public through the intervention and assistance of the religious sector and other faith-based organizations in order to achieve a holistic transformation in the service of security and protection.

Acting City Police Director PCol. Alberto Lupaz, Global Police Community Relations Regional Director Ms. Jennifer Go, Deputy City Director for Administration PLt. Col. Jed Clamor, San Pedro Cathedral Parochial Vicar Rev. Fr. Michael Ondras, Kasimbayanan Region XI Coordinator Pastor Noel Jone Astudillo, Madrasah Comprehensive Development and Promotion Officer Ustadz Nasrudin Maulana, DCPO Advisory Council Pastor Noel Milloren, Kaligkasan Regional Director Ms. Socorro Jean Sigasig, and other DCPO personnel attended the event.

Another event highlight was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the religious leaders and the city police officials.

The memorandum centers around the mutual goal of strengthening the collaboration between the police forces and the religious institutions in the city to enhance Police Community Relations.

Led by Lupaz, the signing parties also pledged to “strive to bridge the gaps and build stronger ties by working closely.”

Lupaz said engaging private stakeholders in the quest for peace and order is in line with the M+K+K=K (Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran) directive of the PNP.
