CALL TO QUASH THE SENATE BILL 2422 KNOWN AS “VACCINE PASSPORT BILL,” AND HOUSE BILL 10249 KNOWN AS “AN ACT PROVIDING FOR MANDATORY CORONAVIRUS 2019 VACCINE FOR ALL FILIPINO CITIZENS…” AND ALL OTHER BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS MANDATING THE VACCINATIONS TO EVERY FILIPINO, ESPECIALLY OUR CHILDREN and UPHOLD REPUBLIC ACT 11525

We, the citizens of the Republic of the Philippines, declare our opposition against the Senate Bill 2422 known as “AN ACT CREATING A VACCINE AND HEALTH PASSPORT PROGRAM…”
and HOUSE BILL 10249 KNOWN AS “AN ACT PROVIDING FOR MANDATORY CORONAVIRUS 2019 VACCINE FOR ALL FILIPINO CITIZENS…” AND ALL OTHER BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS
MANDATING THE VACCINATIONS TO EVERY FILIPINO, ESPECIALLY OUR CHILDREN.
The bills that seek mandatory vaccinations for every citizen dismally miss out on understanding human beings as growing, developing, evolving beings, intrinsically capable of becoming healthy and well, instead choosing to indiscriminately see the populace as recipients or targets of vaccine-related interventions. This is a threat to our Right to Life enshrined in the Philippine Constitution.
The bills claim to address the COVID-19 pandemic but fail to acknowledge the fundamental rights and self-determination of Filipinos to pursue holistic wellness in order to curb the proliferation of this treatable disease. The mandatory nature of the proposed legislation is clearly and concretely dangerous because: (1) the vaccines are still experimental and are only authorized under emergency use provisions while their efficacy and safety are still being evaluated; (2) vaccination entails very real risks that individuals must be free to evaluate for themselves and their families. The proposed bills even bear an undertone of discrimination towards individuals who freely and out of their conscience, choose not to be vaccinated.
Specifically, Section Seven of HB 10249 reeks of privilege and totally turns a blind eye to the current economic plight of the people who choose not to receive vaccinations. Among others, this is a state-sanctioned discrimination against the choices made by free, informed individuals. We are for informed choices especially on matters that affect health, especially the health of our children.
PRECISELY, THE PROPOSED BILLS THAT SUBJECT FILIPINOS TO COMPULSORY AND/OR MANDATORY VACCINATIONS MUST BE QUASHED TO UPHOLD OUR RIGHTS TO LIFE
and FREEDOM to CHOOSE, to RECEIVE and to REFUSE, HONORING THE HUMANITY AND DIGNITY of EACH CHILD AND EACH HUMAN PERSON.
QUASH THE SENATE BILL 2422 KNOWN AS “VACCINE PASSPORT BILL,” AND HOUSE BILL 10249 KNOWN AS “AN ACT PROVIDING FOR MANDATORY CORONAVIRUS 2019 VACCINE FOR ALL FILIPINO CITIZENS…” AND ALL OTHER BILLS AND RESOLUTIONS MANDATING THE
VACCINATIONS FOR EVERY FILIPINO, ESPECIALLY OUR CHILDREN
and UPHOLD REPUBLIC ACT 11525.
The vaccines do not prevent Covid-19. It is already scientifically proven that the vaccines do not prevent infection or transmission. The vaccines were developed based on the symptoms from an earlier variant of the virus, which is no longer in circulation.
