Switching power interruptions on April 9 and 10 in different parts of Davao City

DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of power switching interruptions on Wednesday and Thursday, April 9 and 10, 2025, affecting customers in different parts of Davao City.

The first set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate line works for the Underground Distribution System (UDS) in R. Magsaysay Avenue.

To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 45 minutes anytime between 5:00 a.m. to  6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on the same day.

Specifically affected are customers from Mindanao Christian Bookstore (MCBS) Acacia going to Roxas Avenue,  Ateneo de Davao University, including Freedom Park, City Triangle, and Red Cross.

In connection, a 3-hour power interruption will be conducted from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m, affecting customers in City Triangle on Wednesday, April 9.

The second set of switching power interruptions is necessary to facilitate preventive maintenance works at Bangkal Substation and line works from Ulas Viaduct to San Pedro College.

The transfer of loads will be conducted for 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 45 minutes anytime between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the same day.

Specifically affected are customers from McArthur Highway Bangkal along Doc Alternatibogoing to Jollibee Puan and going to Bambu Estate along Davao-Bukidnon Road including Catalunan Pequeno.

In connection, the loads from the affected lines will be isolated for 8 hours from 1 a.m. to  9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9.

Specifically affected are customers from the corner Ulas Flyover near former Mercury Ulas going to Davao- Bukidnon Road up to San Pedro College-Basic Education Department in Upper Ulas.

Additionally, another normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be conducted for another 45 minutes anytime between 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10.

Specifically affected are customers from MacArthur Highway Bangkal along Doc Alternatibo going to Jollibee Puan and going to Bambu Estate along Davao-Bukidnon Road, including Catalunan Pequeno.

Customers from J15 Japan Surplus & Mini Grocery in Bago Aplaya up to bypass road, Mintal along Bangkal-Ulas junction including Davao City Water District – Talomo Pump, and nearby areas will also be affected by this service disruption.

Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.

Please heed and follow warning signs, especially in areas where personnel operate heavy equipment.
