A JOINT anti-drug operation resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug pushers and the seizure of approximately 550 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of ₱4.9 million at 9:15 p.m. on March 25, in Purok 12, Barangay Canatan, Asuncion.

The operation was led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional XI, along with the PNP Drug Enforcement Group XI and the Asuncion Municipal Police Station.

Nephi Noli Dimaandal, the spokesperson of PDEA XI, said the primary targets, identified as Taher and Jimboy, were apprehended after selling a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing approximately 550 grams of suspected shabu to an undercover agent.

A subsequent search yielded ten additional heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu and the marked buy-bust money.

The arrested suspects will face a charge for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
