Ayala Malls to upgrade and expand Abreeza’s facilities

THE AYALA Malls Abreeza will undergo a redevelopment plan and expansion for the ever-changing needs of its customers.

According to Ayala Malls Abreeza general manager Janice Parreño, they already began enabling works at their vacant lot located near Italiannis. She also hopes that the project will be completed by the year 2026.

“We hope to be able to be a magnet for tourism also not just in the whole region but the whole Mindanao area,” she said at Wednesday’s Habi at Kape on July 3.

The new building provides an additional 15,000 gross leasable area for the mall. It will be a mixed-use building with offices to be stacked on the top floors and spaces for the customers to enjoy. Ayala Malls Abreeza will also go through an updated phase involving more reinventions and repainting.

Parreño further explained that this will be a great addition for Davaoeños to help them have more varied choices in shopping as the mall currently has no available spaces to bring in exciting brands and concepts. She also said this will give opportunities for employment and benefit the local economy.

A budget of P13 billion has been allocated for the redevelopment of their major flagship malls in the Philippines such as Glorietta, Greenbelt, TriNoma, and Ayala Center Cebu. In Mindanao, the Ayala Malls Centrio located in Cagayan de Oro will also undergo redevelopments and expansions in the future.

She added that there will be disruptions on road closures and some closed entrances at Ayala Malls Abreeza in the coming months but the mall will still continue to operate.

“We will try as always to have minimum disruption na scenarios. So either we help them relocate or some we will also help in terms of other opportunities elsewhere,” she said.
