PRO XI intensifies anti-bullying campaign in Davao schools

THE POLICE Regional Office (PRO) XI has significantly stepped up its efforts to combat bullying in schools across the Davao Region, successfully cascading Republic Act 10627, or the “Anti-Bullying Act of 2013,” to various learning institutions, with zero bullying incidents recorded

As part of its ongoing commitment to youth welfare and community engagement, PRO XI has conducted 107 lectures and symposiums in primary, secondary, and tertiary schools throughout the first quarter of the year.

These sessions aimed to equip students, faculty, and school administrators with a deeper understanding of the law’s provisions, emphasizing the legal consequences of bullying and the critical need to cultivate inclusive and respectful academic environments.

The awareness campaign incorporated interactive discussions and real-life scenarios to convey its message effectively.

Notably, PRO XI has reported zero bullying incidents recorded within its jurisdiction as of the first quarter of this year, a positive indicator of the campaign’s early impact.

PRO XI regional director, BGen Leon Victor Rosete, urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected bullying incidents to the nearest police station.

He underscored the vital role of community cooperation in safeguarding the well-being of all individuals, especially students and young people, from such acts.

“Bullying is a serious issue that can have lasting effects on victims. We encourage everyone – parents, teachers, classmates, and concerned citizens – to speak up and help protect everyone,” Rosete stated.

PRO XI affirms its continuous monitoring of bullying cases in the region, reinforcing its dedication as both a law enforcement agency and a crucial partner in nation-building, in line with PNP Director General Rommel Francisco Marbil’s directives.
