Alsons to allot another P1-B for residential properties in Alabel

ALSONS Development and Investment Corp. (Alsons Dev), the real estate development arm of the Alcantara group, is investing about P1 billion for the residential component of its new project in Alabel, the capital of Sarangani, the 121-hectare mixed-use Avia Estate.

In a message to the TIMES, Margarita Teresa Rey-Gross, the company’s marketing manager, said that the company has yet to finalize the initial capital expenditure for the entire project. Still, the plan is to turn over the first house in 2025.

The turnover of houses, Gross added, will be “just in time for the opening of the campus of Abba’s Orchard Avia, which will become the “country’s largest and most esteemed Montessori school, to ensure that quality education is within easy reach of residents in the region.”

The company, she added, is targeting young and starting families looking to settle down in a well-planned, secure neighborhood within the confines of Avia Estate’s many amenities” as it broke ground for the project Friday.

“Avia Estate will house multiple components allowing Soccsksargen (South Cotabato-Cotabato-Sarangani-General Santos) residents to enjoy leisure time, conduct businesses, and live in a secure environment in one location, she added.

Gross said with the establishment of “this new central district, we are hoping to promote more foot traffic into Sarangani and encourage more businesses to come to Alabel–adding value and redefining the standard of living in” the region.

In a press statement, Rosevida A. Dominguez, Alsons Dev executive vice president and daughter of company founder Conrado Alcantara, said the company believes the project will help redefine the standard of living in Sarangani by providing high-quality living and commercial spaces where Mindanaoans can flourish.”

Dominguez, also the mother of former governor Miguel Rene Dominguez, said the company is bringing its track record to the region by implementing “nurturing residential communities” and quality commercial projects.

Former governor Dominguez, also director of the company, said the brand also wants to be part of that growth, and “we are committed to helping lead Mindanao’s progress by creating a new lifestyle destination that will serve as a growth hub and create more opportunities for the people residing here.”

“Sarangani has always been a valued region to the Alcantara Family because we believe in its potential for growth and development,” he said as the project also features, aside from its residential components like the Narra Park Residences, will also feature “first-class leisure amenities, wide retail and commercial offerings, reputable educational institutions, and government support facilities—all in one address.”

The company has also implemented a similar township, Narra Park Residences, in Tigatto, part of Davao City, under the Nurtura Land and Home Brand.

It is also behind the Northtown and Northcrest, two massive property development projects in Cabantian, also near Tigatto, with about 100 hectares each. Just near the two properties is the police and fire station, a project that the company is replicating in its Avia Estate project in Alabel.

The setting up of the public safety and security complex, the company said, will bring “essential government services closer to the community” as it will also house police and fire stations and will be implemented in partnership with the municipal government.
