A former official of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is facing two counts of murder charges after a shooting incident Monday that claimed the lives of his partner and their help in Susana Homes, Baliok.
Frederick Gerona San Felix, 70 and former CAAP manager at the Davao International Airprort, reportedly shot his partner Cindy Flores Florendo, 37, and their help Catherine Langgam, 25, out of jealousy.
Major Catherine dela Rey, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), confirmed that both victims were rushed to the hospital where both died on the same day of the crime.
“Two counts of murder were filed because aside from Florendo, while Langgam was brought to the hospital, she died also,” dela Rey said in an interview.
Initial investigations revealed that San Felix became jealous and hateful towards his partner after learning of her affair with another man.
Police arrested San Felix as the crime took place just 200 meters away from the police station. Recovered from the scene were a Glock .40 caliber gun, a magazine and two empty bullet shells.
