6 NPA rebels captured

THE MILITARY reported that a team of soldiers from the 10th Infantry Division captured six New People’s Army (NPA) members in Purok Kauswagan, Mapawa, Maragusan, Davao de Oro on Sunday

Captain Mark Anthony Tito, Public Affairs Office chief of the division, said the rebels, who were only known by their aliases, were from the Sub-Regional Guerilla Unit of the Sub-Regional Committee 2.

Tito said three of their colleagues who surrendered three days earlier were the ones who helped locate them that resulted in their capture.

MGen Nolasco A Mempin, division commander, lauded the units that helped in the operation.

“We acknowledge and thankd the cooperation of our former rebels who wholeheartedly surrendered to the government forces and helped us in locating the remaining CNTs who still refuse to abandon the armed struggle,” Mempin said.
