THE DAVAO City Chamber of Commerce & Industry Inc. (DCCCII) will showcase groundbreaking technologies and innovative practices in agriculture for the 26th Davao Agri-Trade Expo (DATE), the biggest and longest-running agri-trade event in Southern Mindanao.
The DATE is set to take place on Sept. 19 to 21 at the SMX Convention Center in SM Lanang, Davao City.
In a statement, DCCCII said the event will focus on the integration of digital technologies into traditional farming.
“This year’s expo will spotlight Precision and Smart Agriculture, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain Technology, Al & Machine Learning, Robotics and Automation in Farming, and Climate-Smart Agriculture. These emerging technologies are positioned to revolutionize how agribusinesses operate, making farming more efficient, sustainable, and resilient in the face of climate change and global challenges,” the statement reads.
The event will also highlight sub-sectors such as Halal Agriculture, addressing the increasing demand for halal-certified products, and Agri Eco-Tourism, which blends agriculture with tourism to create sustainable livelihoods and showcase the region’s rich agricultural heritage.
“It will feature cutting-edge exhibits and a series of technical seminars on the latest agricultural technologies, with industry experts discussing key topics such as vertical farming, hydroponics, and agricultural livelihood opportunities, including shrimp production, tilapia farming, layer production, and composting,” they said.
The lineup of exhibitors, showcasing a diverse range of sectors and companies, will also be present during the expo, including the Department of Trade and Industry, Davao Light and Power Company, Pilmico, Anflocor Group of Companies, CPF Thailand in the Philippines, Department of Agriculture XI, HHC Technoluxe Corporation, DOST-PCAARD Mindanao Consortia, Vitarich Corporation, Alatone Plastics Inc., Landbank of the Philippines, among others.
