18-year-old arrested over P340-K worth of marijuana

AUTHORITIES seized more than P300,000 worth of illegal drugs from a top target during a buy-bust operation conducted at Purok 4, V. Mapa Extension, Barangay 9-A, around 5:32 p.m. on Oct. 10.

Police identified him as Joseph Adlawan Tabalan, 18, single, student, a resident of Purok 5, Galagala, Barangay San Vicente, Panabo City, Davao del Norte 

Major Marvin Hugos, the San Pedro Police Station commander, said Tabalan was considered a Top 6 Regional Level Target of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit ( RPDEU) 11.

According to the report, the suspect sold a brick of dried suspected marijuana leaves with fruiting tops wrapped tightly in plastic cellophane with an estimated weight of one kilogram in exchange for marked boodle money. 

During the course of the operation, operatives seized another two bricks of dried suspected marijuana leaves with fruiting tops wrapped tightly in plastic cellophane with an estimated weight of two kilograms. They also confiscated his black Jansport bag, iPhone 6 cellular phone and black leather wallet containing P150.

  The arrested suspect and seized pieces of evidence, with an estimated weight of three kilograms and a total estimated street market value of P340,000, are now in the custody of the San Pedro Police Station for proper disposition, the report said. 

Meanwhile, a case for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) is now being prepared against the suspect for the filing of criminal cases in court.
