15-year-old stabbed in Toril riot

A 15-YEAR-OLD boy was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) after he was stabbed in a riot that happened in Agton Street, Toril at 2:10 a.m. on Oct. 8.

Meanwhile, the suspect, an 18-year-old market laborer, was immediately arrested by the police.

Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified the victim as John Joseph Absin Dagalla, a resident of Fisherman Village, Lizada, Toril.

Meanwhile, the suspect was identified as Peter Madagat Zabala, 18, a market laborer, and a resident of Purok 18, Lao Street, Toril Public Market.

According to the report, before the stabbing, the victim was going home with his family from the San Miguel Beer night band concert when an unknown man suddenly attacked his cousin, sparking the fracas.

Barangay Toril Proper is celebrating the feast of the Holy Rosary on Oct. 7.

According to the police investigation, Dagalla was stabbed in the back with an icepick by the suspect. He was immediately taken to the Southern Philippines Medical Center for medical attention.

In an interview with alias Mae, the victim’s aunt, she was surprised that someone suddenly punched her son. They chased the suspect but learned the victim was stabbed.

In the meantime, the victim is still being treated at SPMC.
