Wanderlust | Iloilo business park breathes new life to ‘city of love’

What used to be the vast tarmac of the old Iloilo airport in Mandurriao is now a booming mixed-use master-planned community and business park developed by Megaworld Corporation, the country’s largest office space developer.

The 72 hectare development is a stark contrast to the old Iloilo, a city known for its heritage houses, old churches and historical sites.

“This used to be the quiet side of town, now it’s throbbing with various commercial, leisure, dining and MICE activities,” shared Natalia Lim, manager of Richmonde Hotel.

The 149-room Richmonde Hotel, located at the heart of the business park, services the developing business and leisure travel markets in Western Visayas with its world-class quality service and facilities.

Richmonde Hotel is joined by various residential condominium developments, such as One Madison Place, the French-inspired Saint Honore and Saint Dominique, Lafayette Park Square and the Palladium, the tallest residential tower in Panay Island at 22 levels, and 8 more business towers, namely One Global, Two Global, Festive Walk, One Techno, Two Techno, One FinTech, and Two Fintech, and the recently-launched International Corporate Plaza, at the Iloilo Business Park.

Megaworld’s Festival Walk Mall

With its much talked-about skygarden and open spaces, the 19-storey International Corporate Plaza is touted to become the most modern “green” office development in the region. It will have 301 prime office units best suited for start-up companies and even established ones that want to be part of Iloilo’s thriving new central business district.

The country’s top BPOs have found home in Iloilo Business Park

“We welcome new occupants to the International Corporate Plaza with state-of-the-art facilities never seen before in any office building in Western Visayas” said Iloilo Business Park vice president for sales and marketing Jennifer Palmares-Fong. The tower is expected to be completed by 2024.

Aside from the commercial towers, Iloilo Business Park is also home to the Iloilo Museum of Contemporary Art, the iconic Iloilo Convention Center, the 326-room The Courtyard by Marriott, and soon, Belmont Hotel Iloilo, which will have 405 rooms.

Crowning the business park is Megaworld’s largest mall outside of Metro Manila, the Festive Walk Mall, which opened in 2018.

“We consider it the most beautiful mall in the region. With so much activities in the mall, some of our guests often prefer to stay and enjoy the facilities within the business park,” added Lim.

The mall is connected the 1.1. kilometer Festive Walk Parade, the longest dining and retail strip in the region, via an airconditioned bridge.

With these exciting developments in IloIlo Business Park, there’s definitely more reasons to fall in love with the Philippines’ City of Love.
