A HIGH-PRIORITY target and his companion were arrested in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Sasa police at 6:20 a.m. on Monday, April 8.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office, identified him as alias Choy, a 23-year-old resident of Purok 11, Vistamal. Alias Nash, a 40-year-old resident of the same Purok, was apprehended alongside Choy.
During the operation, officers seized one package of suspected shabu purchased during the buy-bust, along with two additional packages found in the suspects’ possession.
The confiscated shabu weighed 5.41 grams with an estimated street value of P37,788.
Additionally, authorities discovered 12 cartons of various brands of smuggled cigarettes valued at P240,000.
Both suspects will face charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). They will also be charged under Republic Act No. 10863, the “An Act Modernizing the Customs and Tariff Administration,” for possessing smuggled cigarettes.
