Top drug targets arrested, P750-K in suspected shabu seized in buy-bust

A JOINT operation by the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) XI resulted in the arrest of two high-value drug suspects and the seizure of over P750,000 worth of suspected shabu on Feb. 27.

The operation, conducted at approximately 9:17 p.m. on Queen Street, Royal Valley, Barangay Talomo, targeted a known drug personality identified as alias Boss, a 47-year-old businessman and resident of the area.

 Also arrested was alias Mani, a 35-year-old housewife residing at the same location.

DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon said Boss was considered a top five city-level drug personality while alias Mani was a top seven city-level drug personality.

According to the report, the operation was based on information provided by a confidential informant.  

The Special Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) personnel of PS4-Sasa DCPO, led by Captain Arniet R. Ico, under the supervision of Major Marcelle M. Manzano, along with personnel from TSC RMFB XI, led by Police Captain Edsel Licot, conducted the buy-bust.

During the operation, authorities seized five sachets of shabu, one genuine P1,000 bill used as buy-bust money, nine pieces of P1,000 boodle money, and a blue pouch.

The seized suspected shabu had an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P753,100, which was turned over to the  Intelligence Operating Center for subsequent transfer to the Regional Crime Laboratory Office for forensic examination. 

Meanwhile, the arrested individuals were taken to the Sasa Police Station for processing.
