A 27-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested by elements of the Mandug police after shabu was found inside a loaf of bread that she was supposed to deliver to a detainee at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 10.

Maj. Robel Saavedra, the commander of the Mandug Police Station, identified her as Jennifer.

According to Saavedra, she was a friend of Brian, a detainee inside who was apprehended for selling drugs after she delivered a pack of loaf bread. The police inspected the item and found the contraband wrapped in masking tape inserted within the loaf of bread.

They also confiscated a piece of foil paper and a Nokia phone. The drug evidence weighed bout three grams with an estimated street market value of P48,000.

Saavedra said the apprehension of the suspect should serve as a warning to others who think that they could smuggle drugs and other contraband inside the police station.

The suspect is now in the custody of this office facing charges of violation of Republic Act 9165, Sec.11 (possession of dangerous drugs), and Sec. 12 (possession of equipment, instrument, apparatus, and other paraphernalia for dangerous drugs).
