TOG 11 Joins JCI Lakambini for a Medical Mission in Brgy. Bantol, Davao City

The TOG 11 Medical Unit and JCI Lakambini conducted an expanded medical mission last Sunday, 26 May 2024, in Brgy. Bantol of Marilog District in Davao City. Medical teams from both groups offered free medical consultation and medications to 250 residents of the barangay. Free vitamins were distributed to them as well.

Aside from the medical consultation, 47 young males availed of the free circumcision services provision. This was handled by trained medical professionals from the volunteer groups and all under sterile conditions.

Other highlights of the outreach event are the distribution of 300 kg of rice and 4 large water drums to the barangay constituents in the aim to augment their food and nutritional security and address water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) concerns by providing safe and adequate water storage system at home. The water drums are eyed as safer and sustainable preventive measures on WASH-related problems. The items were provided by JCI-Lakambini.

Overall, the endeavor was successful as the recipient’s expressed gratitude to both groups for the collective and expansive efforts to support health, nutrition and WASH promotion for the barangay. Mr. Edwin B. Fiel, Brgy Captain of the said barangay extended his sense of fulfillment and immense gratitude in behalf of the people of the barangay. The JCI Lakambini and TOG 11 personnel were specially thanked for their benevolence and continued encouragement and commitment to promote overall health and well-being, both individuals and the community collectively through the provision of the medical services as well as needed commodities both food and non-food, and expressed the hope of continues joint effort undertakings of this kind to help the communities who are in need.

Moving forward, TOG 11 will remain committed to support health promotion endeavors individually and jointly with existing partner organizations and groups for the service of the people of Davao.
