DAVAO Light and Power Co., Inc. (Davao Light) will conduct a series of switching power interruptions on June 6, 7, 8, and 9, 2025, affecting customers in Davao City and Davao del Norte.
The first power interruption is necessary to facilitate the repair of a bumped pole fronting Sto. Tomas Substation. This will be for 1 hour from 5 a.m. to 6 a.m. on Friday, June 6, affecting customers along Sto. Tomas – Carmen Road from portions of Tibal-og near Marsman up to the crossing of La Libertad, including Bobongon and Balagunan.
The second set of power interruptions is necessary to facilitate the decommissioning activities of Panabo Substation.
To avoid a longer power interruption, the loads from the affected lines will be transferred to a nearby substation for 1 hour from 11 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, June 7. Meanwhile, the normalization or return of loads to their normal set-up will be for another 1 hour, from 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. on Monday, June 9.
Specifically affected are those from San Vicente Substation to Sto. Nino Carmen, including Quezon Street, Panabo, Gaisano Mall Panabo, to the corner of Roxas Street, and Daang Maharlika Highway. Also affected are those from San Vicente Substation to Panabo Wharf and those from San Vicente Substation to Tadeco Road up to Nanyo, including portions of New Visayas, Rachoville, Southern Davao, and portions of Mabitad Extension.
In connection, a 4-hour power interruption will be conducted from 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, affecting customers in portions of Daang Maharlika Highway in Panabo from SeaOil near the crossing of San Isidro Street to Panabo City Hall.
Lastly, the third set of power interruptions is necessary to facilitate line upgrading works in Matina. The transfer of loads will be for 15 minutes anytime between 1 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 8. Meanwhile, the normalization will be for another 15 minutes anytime between 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on the same day. Affected customers are those along Diversion Road from Marapao Carwash to Dahlia’s Soup No. 5.
In connection, a 6-hour power interruption will be conducted from 1 a.m. to 7 a.m. on Sunday, June 8, affecting customers from Matina Substation along Matina Pangi Road, Matina Crossing, Matina Aplaya Road up to Shanghai Hotel Inn and nearby areas.
Davao Light apologizes for the inconvenience brought about by these scheduled power interruptions. But it will exert all efforts to restore electric service as scheduled or earlier. However, there may be instances where restoration may extend beyond the schedule due to unavoidable circumstances.
