THE SUSPECT in the fatal stabbing of a 41-year-old man in Marilog District surrendered to the authorities on Sunday, July 7.
Alias Mark, 20, turned himself in to Tamugan barangay councilor Ronilo Celes after hiding in Sitio Kiman-aw, Barangay Salapawan, Paquibato District.
On Sunday afternoon, July 7, at 1:20 p.m., Celes formally handed Mark to the Marilog Police Station.
Mark was a co-worker of the victim Roy Amolong. It was reported that the two were drinking together before the crime occurred. While the victim was lying in a hammock, the suspect suddenly stabbed him multiple times.
The victim’s body was found two days later in Sitio Davao Gulf, Barangay Tamugan, Marilog District.
Captain Hazel Tuazon spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office said a personal conflict is believed to be the motive behind the killing.
