Three taxi drivers tested positive in the Oplan Harabas conducted by the authorities at the Davao International Airport Friday morning. The names of the drivers were not immediately released.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is working to revoke the driver’s license of the three drivers so they will be discharged from their work.

Regional Director Antonio Rivera of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 11 said they conducted drug testing to public utilities drivers, such as taxi jeepneys, buses, and vans, as a preventive measure against drug-related road traffic accidents.

Yesterday, they conducted the random drug testing to taxi drivers queuing outside the Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Buhangin. They tested 297 drivers.

PDEA led the operation with the assistance of LTO, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), PNP Aviation Security Unit and Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

PDEA mascots agents Phed and Eyah joined the team in distributing education information and communication materials.
