PSA XI conducts 2023 NICT household survey

THE PHILIPPINE Statistics Authority XI, in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), will conduct the 2023 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (NICTHS) from  Feb. 5  to March 6, 2024, in all provinces of the Region. 

The NICTHS is part of the larger Digital Philippines initiative of the DICT. An initiative dedicated to providing every Filipino with access to vital ICT infrastructure and services. It aspires to ensure the sustainable growth of ICT-enabled industries, create more jobs, establish One Digitized Government, One Nation, support the administration in achieving its goals, and be the enabler, innovator, achiever, and leader in pushing the country’s development and transition towards a world-class digital economy. 

The main goal of the 2023 NICTHS is to produce new baseline data for key ICT indicators in the barangay, households, and individuals. These data will be used by government planners, policymakers, and administrators in formulating social and economic development plans, policies, and programs. 

The 2023 NICTHS comprises three distinct questionnaires designed for interviewing barangay, household, and individual levels. To ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data, PSA RSSO XI will be surveying 2,304 sample households across the province and the barangay of the sample households as respondents for the barangay questionnaire. A total of six team supervisors and 17 statistical researchers will be deployed to conduct the data collection in the provinces of the region using computer-aided personal interviews. 

In view of this, PSA RSSO XI-Davao Region encouraged all the sample households to support and cooperate in this survey by providing truthful and accurate information. All data the respondents give shall be treated with strict confidentiality and shall be considered privileged communication, hence, inadmissible in evidence in any proceeding as provided for in Section 26 of RA 10625.

The PSA also complies with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and assures that all collected personal information is processed per the law and other issuances.
