PRO XI unfazed by charges filed by FPRRD, Quiboloy supporters over KOJC operation

THE POLICE Regional Office XI remains unfazed by the legal actions taken by former President Rodrigo Duterte following the 16-day operation on the Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound to arrest Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and his four co-accused.

“We value democracy and transparency in our work ethics we will let justice run its course without any intervention we are asking for understanding if we can’t comment further about the charges as this is legally sensitive in nature,” PRO XI spokesperson Major Catherine Dela Rey said.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte and supporters of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy have filed criminal charges against Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos and other officials in the Philippine National Police (PNP).

This was revealed by Abalos in a press conference at the DILG on Monday, Sept. 9, where Quiboloy and four other co-accused were presented to the media.

Duterte filed two counts of malicious mischief under the Revised Penal Code. Among the respondents to the cases aside from Abalos, are PNP Director General Rommelv Marbil and Police Regional Office XI director Brig Gen Nicolas Torre III.

A group of Quiboloy supporters also filed separate complaints under the Revised Penal Code: Articles 128 (Violation of Domicile), 132 (Interruption of Religious Worship), 133 (Offending the Religious Feelings) and 282 (Grave Threats).

Administrative complaints were also lodged against Abalos and the PNP officials for grave misconduct, grave abuse of authority and/or conduct unbecoming of a public officer.

All of these cases are separate from the writ of amparo filed by Quiboloy’s church the KOJC, before the regional trial court branch 15.
