AROUND 100 to 200 indigent breast cancer patients of the Southern Philippines Medical Center will benefit from the Pink Run 2024: D’feeting Breast Cancer Davao Fun Run on October 5 at the Azuela Cove.

Pink Run 2024: D’feeting Breast Cancer is a project of the Philippine Society of General Surgeons Davao Southern Mindanao Chapter, in cooperation with the Philippine College of Surgeons Inc.-Davao Southern Mindanao Chapter and the Mindanao Surgical Oncology Association Inc.

Dr. Joan Fabiosa-Reyes, Philippine College of Surgeons committee head, said the fun run is more of an advocacy and their commitment to fighting breast cancer.

Fabiosa-Reyes added the Pink Run 2024: D’feeting Breast Cancer celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness in October and kicks off future events such as a lay forum on best breast care advice for Oct. 19 at Lanang Premiere Doctors Hospital Inc.

“There are some artists on Oct. 19 na they’re willing to post their paintings there and then some of the portion of their income will be given to the breast cancer patients,” she said at Wednesday Habi at Kape.

She is also eyeing 300 participants for the Pink Run 2024: D’feeting Breast Cancer with a maximum of 500 participants. The event will also be attended by breast cancer survivors.
