PhilHealth XI hosts media forum, strengthens ties with stakeholders and media

PHILHEALTH Regional Office (PRO) XI successfully conducted the 2025 Media Forum at Apo View Hotel, Davao City, bringing together around 100 stakeholders, including over 50 media personnel.

The forum aimed to inform, educate, and empower stakeholders on PhilHealth’s latest programs and policy updates while reinforcing partnerships with the media as vital information multipliers. The event was structured as a four-in-one activity, featuring key discussions, services, and collaborations.

Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas (KSBP) – Conducted in partnership with the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) XI, this session underscored PhilHealth’s unwavering commitment to enhancing healthcare services. Regional Vice President (RVP) Atty. Harvey L. Carcedo announced the launch of 13 new and enhanced benefit packages and reiterated the call for healthcare providers to adhere to the no-co-payment policy for greater transparency. He also reported that PhilHealth Region XI disbursed PHP 928 million in claims from December 27, 2024, to January 25, 2025.

“Tuloy-tuloy ang serbisyo, palalawigin pa angbenepisyo,” said Carcedo, emphasizing PhilHealth’smission of promoting social health insurance. He also lauded the media’s critical role in educating and empowering the public.

Media Konsulta registration day – Media attendees availed of PhilHealth services, including First Patient Encounter (FPE) and other medical check-ups provided by partner Konsulta Package Providers: Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF), Adventist Hospital, and City Health Office Davao. This initiative provided the media with first-hand experience of the FPE process and services offered under the PhilHealth Konsulta Benefit Package.

Ceremonial signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) with PIA – To strengthen collaboration for social marketing and communication advocacies promoting the National Health Insurance Program (NHIP) and Universal Health Care, PhilHealthXI and PIA XI formalized and renewed its partnership for the third year in a row. PIA Regional Director Rene V. Carbayas commended PhilHealth’s efforts, stating, “To make healthcare a fundamental right, not a privilege. Your work is changing lives and helping create a compassionate society for all.”

Awarding of digital poster-making contest national finalist – Vincent John Vincent Medillo of Jose Maria College Foundation, representing Region XI, secured second place in PhilHealth’s National Digital Poster Making Contest with his artwork titled “Pangkalahatang Kalusugan at Kapanatagan.” He bested 17 regional finalists nationwide.
