A passenger of the Manila-Davao sweeper flight last Wednesday tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the City information Office, one of the passengers failed the health screening and was sent to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for swabbing and was later confined in the quarantine center. The RT-PCR test of the individual is confirmed positive.
The City Health Office is now contact tracing those who were seated next to the patient to come in for further screening.
“We remind all the passengers of the May 6 flight from Manila if they develop symptoms within 14 days to go to SPMC for assessment. We emphasize to the family members of those who recently arrived to avoid direct physical contact with them,” the statement said.
The passengers of the sweeper flights were marked with an indelible ink with their left index finger to make them easily identifiable. “If you see anyone with this mark, please do not go near them for the next 14-21 days,” the statement advised.
The city shall raise the matter of this incident to the regional task force and request the national government to prohibit boarding of mercy flights to other destinations without testing them first.
