SIX PEOPLE, including an eight-year-old, were injured in a lightning strike on Saturday, April 27, in Sitio Macabol, Barangay Salaysay, Marilog District.
Captain Hazel Tuazon, the spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), identified the victims as Annabel Mendoza, 48, resident of Barangay Meocan, Arakan, Cotabato; Chino Pagalan, 8; Jessel Camparan Bayo, 18; Albert Pagayao, 17; Ernesto Pahulayan, 42; and Marily Mantiquilla, 34, all residents of Barangay Suawan in Marilog.
According to the report, the victims had just come from a wedding celebration when lightning struck a nearby coconut tree, causing their injuries.
All six victims were transported to Kibalang District Hospital, Barangay Marilog for treatment.
