LAW ENFORCERS at the two checkpoints of the city in Bunawan and Sirawan seized about P50,000 in shabu and smuggled cigarettes on Thursday.
Captain John Louie Dema-ala, Task Force Davao spokesperson, said uniformed personnel supervising the Bunawan checkpoint arrested Bonifer Pastrana, 35 years old, single, a resident of Purok 4 Nalum, Bago Gallera at 3:30 am.
He said Pastrana yielded about 2.30 grams in what authorities as shabu with an estimated street value of P36,800.
Also that day at the Sirawan checkpoint, law enforcers arrested Mark Anthony R. Depra, 24, of Maitum, Sarangani who was entering the city on board a public utility vehicle. Seized from him were smuggled cigarettes worth P12,500.
Colonel Darren E. Comia, TFD commander, commended the personnel supervising the two checkpoints for ensuring that criminals get arrested before they could enter the city.
