THREE individuals were arrested at the Barangay Sirawan checkpoint, Toril District, and Barangay Lacson, Calinan District, on Saturday afternoon, March 9, for carrying suspected shabu and marijuana.
The Task Force Davao, in coordination with the Davao City Police Office, manning the Sirawan entry point apprehended James Cavatian Miramontes, 40, a resident of Barangay San Isidro, General Santos City while on board a white Mitsubishi Mirage G4 bearing plate MAB 9474 entering the city.
Authorities allegedly seized two sachets of suspected shabu weighing around two grams worth P32,000; sachets of suspected marijuana weighing more or less 4.7 grams with an estimated street value of P 799, and other drug paraphernalia from the suspect.
Also, Regine Aaron, 27, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Kalasuyan, Kidapawan City, and Nikke M Gerona, 30, a resident of Barangay Mahongkog, Magpet, North Cotabato, were arrested while passing through the Lacson checkpoint on board a wing van (KAM 1467) heading toward the city around 12:30 p.m.
Confiscated from their possession were plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.56 grams with an estimated street value of P8,960.
The suspects and the evidence were turned over to the respective police stations as they faced charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
