National Women’s Month Celebration: Lifting Each Other Up Women Uplifting Women at Aboitiz InfraCapital

WOMEN OF ABOITIZ INFRACAPITAL: inspiring change and breaking barriers

In celebration of Women’s Month, Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc. (AIC), the infrastructure arm of the Aboitiz Group, highlights the collective strength of its women team members as they share their stories and advice to inspire more women across the world.

This initiative reflects AIC’s commitment to building not only infrastructure but also communities of empowered individuals.

“Empowering women goes beyond recognition; it’s about creating opportunities for growth, leadership, and mentorship,” said AIC President & CEO Cosette V. Canilao. “At Aboitiz InfraCapital, we believe in enabling women to uplift one another. Through shared experiences, we contribute to building stronger communities where everyone has a chance to thrive.”

The women of AIC and its business units showcase the power of mentorship and support, proving that lifting others creates a ripple effect of empowerment.

Amplifying Voices: Speaking Up and Shining Bright

RJ Villanueva, Branding, ESG, and Corporate Social Responsibility Officer at AIC Economic Estates, encourages women to own their voices. “Don’t be afraid to let yourself be heard. For years, I hesitated to share my ideas, only to hear someone else voice the same thoughts later. Believe in your contributions and let your presence be felt. When you shine, you inspire others to do the same.”

Embracing Challenges with Confidence

Rizi Rossan Javier, Asset Maintenance and Project Management Supervisor at LIMA Water Corporation, stresses the importance of perseverance. “Believe in yourself and never be afraid to take on challenges. Speak up, ask questions, and continuously seek opportunities to learn and grow. Surround yourself with mentors and role models, and don’t hesitate to advocate for your career aspirations. Hard work, confidence, and staying true to your values will set you apart. Most importantly, support other women and never let setbacks define your potential.”

Leading with Authenticity

Christine Villanueva, Head of Strategy and Communications at Mactan-Cebu International Airport, reflects on the importance of staying true to oneself. “As a young leader, I was told that being ‘too nice’ might hinder my effectiveness. But I realized that genuine leadership doesn’t require changing who you are. Stick to your values and lead with authenticity. When you’re genuine, you earn respect and inspire others to lead in their unique way.”

Balancing Roles and Supporting Growth

For Faith Pimentel, Human Resources Officer at Unity Digital Infrastructure, Inc. (a joint venture between AIC and Partners Group), patience and grace are key. “As a mom, wife, and employee, I’ve learned the importance of giving myself room for error. It’s not always easy, but being patient with yourself and others helps create a supportive environment where growth becomes possible.”

Prioritizing Self-Care and Growth

Jacqueline Tiu Bot, People & Culture Manager at Apo Agua Infrastructura, Inc., emphasizes the importance of self-care and continuous development. “Jump on every chance to learn and level up, even if it means getting out of your comfort zone. Stick to your values, but stay flexible and evolve as you grow and learn. And don’t forget to take time for yourself—self-care is key to sustained growth and happiness.”

Asking for What You Deserve

Faye Condez-De Sagon, Assistant Vice President of External Affairs at AIC, emphasizes the importance of advocating for oneself. “If you never ask, you’ll never get it. Women have a natural ability to juggle multiple responsibilities, but it’s equally important to set boundaries, prioritize, and ensure you’re building the life you truly want. Empowering others starts with empowering yourself.”

Embracing Challenges and Passion

Liza Dimaculangan, External Affairs Manager at LIMA Land, shares her belief in passion and perseverance. “The business world can be challenging, but it’s also a space where women can thrive. Embrace every challenge as an opportunity to grow, and always believe in yourself. Passion and hard work are contagious—they inspire others to push their boundaries.”

Mentorship and Lifelong Learning

Donna Lobingco, Marketing Services Officer for Sales at AIC Economic Estates, highlights the value of shared knowledge. “Be hungry for learning, and pass that knowledge along. Every interaction with peers and mentors is an opportunity to grow. Resilience and curiosity aren’t just personal strengths; they’re tools to uplift others as well.”

This Women’s Month, AIC celebrates the women who contribute to its success and actively uplift their peers. By sharing their stories and advice, these women create a network of support that extends beyond the workplace, inspiring others to overcome challenges and embrace opportunities.

“Aboitiz InfraCapital’s mission to enable businesses and uplift communities is brought to life by the incredible women within our teams,” Canilao added. “When we lift each other up, we build a future where everyone can thrive.”
