MCM unveils new logo, new name as Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao

Malayan Colleges Mindanao has been rejuvenated and renamed as Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM), made all the more official with the school’s unveiling of its rebranded Façade on April 27, 2023.

The announcement was made by Dr. Dodjie S. Maestrecampo, Mapúa MCM president during the recent unveiling of the school’s new logo on the Davao campus.

“Our new name, Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao, aptly represents our competencies, focus, and vision. By putting our heritage at the forefront, we firmly attest that our graduates and students have been trained and equipped with the same academic and technological excellence that Mapúa is known for,” Maestrecampo said.

The rebranding reflects the legacy of excellence and global standards in which the college is rooted. It is also a nod towards the institution’s commitment to high-quality education that equips students to compete globally.

The move also heralds the higher education institution’s efforts to transform itself into a comprehensive university known for its encompassing leadership in engineering and technological, computing, architecture, health sciences, business, and the arts.

This practice enables students to enjoy a personalized, in-depth education that helps them achieve clear learning results, industry-relevant skills, and a keen interest in research and innovation.

To further ensure that students have a smooth and engaged learning experience, the Mapúa MCM campus has state-of-the-art facilities that include globally-acclaimed hybrid flexible classrooms for teaching and learning, an intuitive Blackboard learning management system, and digitally-savvy credentialed faculty members.

Maestrecampo said that the institution has become even more focused on establishing partnerships with international universities like its recent collaboration with Arizona State University — the #1 most innovative university in the U.S. as ranked by US News and World Report for the 8th consecutive year — for A.T. Yuchengco College of Business and College of Health Sciences, as well as other linkages with various industries, government agencies, and non-government organizations to ensure that the people of Mindanao have comprehensive access to the latest innovations in education.

Five years after it first opened its doors, Mapúa MCM has cemented its foundations as one of the leading private schools in Mindanao. This is evident in the growth of its student population, from 1,200 in 2018 to over 5,000 students last year.
